Why add a waste allowance?
Cutting, shrinkage, QC and sampling increase real consumption. 3–8% waste is common; adjust for repeat matching, marker efficiency and shrinkage allowance.
How do I convert m² price to per meter?
Price per meter ≈ m² price × fabric width (meters). Example: 150 cm width and $8/m² → about $12/m. This tool shows effective unit prices both ways.
Why is GSM required for kg-based pricing?
Kg pricing bills by weight: kg = (GSM × m²) / 1000. Without GSM you cannot cost from a per-kg quote; use the free GSM Converter for oz/yd² ↔ g/m².
How is cost per piece calculated?
