What is the difference between Ne, Nm, and Tex?
Ne is the English cotton count (indirect: higher number means finer yarn). Nm is the metric count (kilometers per kilogram). Tex is a direct system: grams per 1000 meters; higher Tex means coarser yarn.
How are Denier and dtex calculated?
Denier is grams per 9000 meters (Tex × 9). dtex (decitex) is grams per 10,000 meters (Tex × 10). This tool converts every unit through Tex as the pivot.
How do I convert folded yarn like 20/2 Ne?
20/2 Ne means two plies of 20 Ne; the cotton resultant is about 10 Ne. Enter 20 with plies=2, or type 20/2. For Ne/Nm, resultant ≈ count÷plies; for Tex/Denier, resultant ≈ count×plies.
